Gathering of material about December 2008

Whoever has in his disposal any material related to December 2008 (photographs, videos etc) he/she can send it to Micropolis’ email or bring it at the cafe during November, as a photograph exhibition about last year’s December is to be realised at Micropolis.

Sunday at Microtopos

On Sunday 29/11/09 13.00-17.00 there will be held activities in the frames of the Microtopos at Micropolis, which will include : theatrical play, creative activities, free play, eating, and a public discussion concerning the operation of the Microtopos and the organization of its activities.

25/11/09 Public meeting-Briefing about the Swine Flu

On Wednesday 25/11/09 at 6.30pm there will be held at Micropolis a public meeting themed "The Swine Flu in a society that invests in Fear and consumes it".

Presentation text for the Computers Room at Micropolis

This text represents a first attempt to present the frame and the rationale based on which the computers room at the Social Space for the Freedom Micropolis was created, as well as an effort to describe the aims and operations of the room, as these have been determined by now. At the same time, it constitutes a first presentation of ideas and reflections which aims at the provoking of a collective open and dynamic discussion that will be in position to listen for the needs of the people who operate at Micropolis that are related to technology, and to modulate, according to them, the character and the objective of the computers room, but also to explore methods of the use of technology on the axis of the fulfillment of these needs.

On Saturday 31/10/09 at 3μμ there will be held a public assembly about the computers room at Micropolis.

If one has any computers or peripherals at his disposal, which are not needed any more, and wishes for them to be reused and not thrown away, he/she can bring them every day at Micropolis.

On Friday 30/10/09 at 19.00 there will be held a public assembly concerning the organization of the activities in the frames of Microtopos.

On Tuesday 27/10/09 at 19.00 there will be held a public assempbly concerning the organization of the library at Micropolis.

If one wishes to contribute any books or materials, he/she can bring them every day during Micropolis' working hours.

The main subjects that will be covered are nationalism - gender - labour, without this being restrictive.

20/10/09 Opening of the Video-Cinema Lab

The lessons in the frame of the Video-Cinema Lab-Κινηματογράφου will bagin on Tuesday 20 October and will be held every Tuesday at 16.00 - 18.00 on the 2nd floor of Micropolis.

The computer room at Micropolis has been set up and it will be open every day from 12am untill 11pm.
